Carlos Rodriguez, the Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Rays, announced on Thursday that he will be departing from the organization after a remarkable 15-season career in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Since starting with the Rays in 2010 as a professional and area scout, Rodriguez has been a crucial part of the team’s strategic direction and success. During his time, the Rays secured three AL East division championships and made five postseason appearances.

“After 15 exceptional years with the Tampa Bay Rays organization, I’ve decided it’s the right moment to step away and consider new opportunities,” Rodriguez stated. “I’m proud of our achievements and thankful for the friendships I’ve formed here, especially with Erik Neander, who’s been like a brother. Leading various departments and working with talented individuals has deeply influenced me professionally and personally. Though it’s tough to leave, I am eager to see what lies ahead and have confidence that the organization will thrive in capable hands.”

Rodriguez stepped into the role of vice president and assistant general manager in 2022.
