TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The weekend will continue with a hot and humid summer weather pattern. Daily temperatures are expected to rise into the low 90s, with heat indices soaring above 100°.

Rain chances will increase heading into the weekend as well with an increase in tropical moisture.

Isolated showers develop today along the coast shortly after lunchtime and will drift inland through the afternoon.

Although rain chances increase this weekend, the pattern will stay the same with coastal midday showers moving inland through the afternoon.

Currently, the tropics are calm, with no new developments anticipated over the next week. However, late next week, the northern Gulf could see some minor development, so it’s worth monitoring.
