Police respond to Columbia Boulevard between Sisson Road and S. Washington Avenue

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A small aircraft crashed near Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville on Monday morning, leading to nearby road closures and power disruptions, officials said.
The plane went down along Columbia Boulevard, between Sisson Road and South Washington Avenue. Titusville police, firefighters and other emergency responders were called to the scene, according to officials.
Columbia Boulevard remains shut down in both directions while crews work in the area. Titusville police are urging motorists to avoid the stretch and use alternate routes.
People living or working near Sisson Road and Columbia Boulevard should be prepared for power outages. Florida Power & Light turned off electricity to that part of the grid as a safety precaution.
Officials have not confirmed whether anyone was injured. It also remains unclear whether the small plane was taking off from or attempting to land at Space Coast Regional Airport when the crash happened.
