In a groundbreaking initiative, over 35,000 residents in Southwest Virginia are set to experience a significant financial reprieve as their medical debts are wiped away. This sweeping change comes courtesy of The Secular Society, a nonprofit organization, which has announced the elimination of an astonishing $51,348,305.70 in medical debt. This act of goodwill affects 35,007 individuals across 18 counties, marking the largest debt relief effort the organization has ever undertaken.
