Man wanted in reference to fraud in Richmond Co.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who is wanted in reference to fraud.

Authorities report that Chad Adams, 41, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds with brown hair and eyes, is wanted for charges of Theft by Conversion and the Exploitation of an Elderly or Disabled Person. These offenses reportedly took place on December 6th, 2024, on Curry Street.

The incident report reveals that the victim explained he provided Adams with a signed, blank check intended for property-related work. However, later he discovered that Adams lacked the appropriate license to perform the work.

The report further details that, as per the victim’s account, Adams wrote the check to himself for $20,000 without any contractual agreement or work being completed. The victim claims that even after discussing the matter with Adams, he went ahead and cashed the check without authorization.

The incident reports states that the victim is disabled and his children has Power of Attorney over him.
