UPDATE: I-74E Reopens in DeWitt County After Three-Vehicle Accident

FARMER CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — Interstate 74 Eastbound at Farmer City has been reopened after a three-vehicle crash took place in DeWitt County on Thursday evening.

At about 7:39 p.m., Illinois State Police Troop 7 announced that the interstate was reopened to traffic following the accident, which happened merely an hour earlier. No additional details are available at this time.


FARMER CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police Troop 7 is currently managing the scene of a three-vehicle collision just east of Farmer City, with traffic in the vicinity being rerouted.

At approximately 6:25 p.m., Illinois State Police said that Troop 7 is currently on the scene of a three-vehicle crash on I-74 E/B at milepost 161, just east of Farmer City. Eastbound traffic is currently being detoured at exit 159 to Farmer City and Illinois Route 54.

State Police is urging drivers to use caution and seek an alternate route if traveling in the area. There is no further information available at this time.
