VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Central Florida man was arrested Monday after authorities say he fired a gun inside a Daytona Beach home, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the residence at about 5:30 a.m. after receiving a report that 26-year-old Bernard Millsap had kicked in the front door, officials said in a news release.

Investigators later determined that Millsap entered the home, fired a handgun and then ran from the scene, according to deputies.

No one was struck by the gunfire, and no injuries were reported, the sheriff’s office said.

Millsap later surrendered and was taken into custody without incident shortly before 11 a.m. at his apartment on State Street in Holly Hill, authorities said.
