CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs will host the 2027 MLB All-Star Game at Wrigley Field.
The announcement was made by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on Friday morning.
Wrigley Field will host an All-Star game for the first time since 1990. Beginning in 2014, the Ricketts invested a substantial sum into renovating Wrigley Field.
The last hurdle for the Cubs to reportedly get over was enhancing security at the ball park, and that box has apparently been checked.
The Cubs sent out a cryptic email Thursday about a “special announcement” at the ball park Friday morning.
Governor JB Pritzker was in attendance for the announcement, along with Cubs management and other local leaders.
This is a developing story. Check back for details.
