Coastal communities across northern NSW are being warned to prepare for heavy rain and flash flooding over the coming days.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts that starting tomorrow, a low-pressure system could affect coastal regions, leading to moderate to heavy rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, as well as damaging winds and surf.
In the Hunter, Mid North Coast, and Northern Rivers districts, daily rainfall could range from 50mm to 100mm through the weekend, with damaging wind gusts possibly exceeding 90km/h along the Northern Coastal fringe.
Hogan says residents should monitor weather forecasts and prepare if they are impacted.
“We advise everyone to stay informed by downloading the Hazards Near Me app and setting up a watch zone for their area, ensuring you receive the latest warnings and advice.
“You should also stay across the latest weather updates on the Bureau of Meteorology website.”
