The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has expressed his country’s willingness to assist in brokering “meaningful and conclusive talks” aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict involving Iran. This statement highlights Pakistan’s readiness to engage diplomatically in the hopes of fostering peace in the region.

Sharif’s comments were shared in a post on the social media platform X, following discussions spurred by former President Donald Trump’s remarks. Trump had mentioned that negotiations between the United States and Iran were taking place, prompting various nations to support diplomatic efforts.

In his message, Sharif elaborated, “Subject to the agreement of both the US and Iran, Pakistan is prepared and honored to serve as a host to facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict.”

However, the White House has approached the situation with caution. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the issue, emphasizing the sensitivity of the diplomatic discussions and stating that the U.S. will refrain from conducting negotiations through the media. “This is a fluid situation,” Leavitt noted, “and speculation about meetings should not be considered final until formally announced by the White House.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that “these are sensitive diplomatic discussions and the US will not negotiate through the press.”

“This is a fluid situation, and speculation about meetings should not be deemed as final until they are formally announced by the White House,” Leavitt said.
