An alleged triple killer’s phone call with emergency services moments before his wife and two children were found dead in their Sydney home has been revealed.
Police called to what they allege was a “particularly violent scene” in Campbelltown on Monday night found the bodies of a 46-year-old woman and two children, aged 12 and four, inside a home.
The alleged killer is understood to be the father and husband, who was the full-time carer for the children, who both had severe autism.
A former co-worker told 9News he spoke with the alleged killer recently, saying he was battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
“He was always proud of his wife and his son, and he was just very happy,” a source close to the family remarked.
The father, now facing three counts of murder, will remain in custody until his next court hearing, scheduled for July.
His attorney emphasized to 9News that he retains the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
Meanwhile, a small memorial has started to take shape outside the family’s home in southwestern Sydney, as the community struggles to come to terms with the heartbreaking events.
