Angelie Valerio was cooking dinner inside her Blaxland Home when an upside-down car landed in it.

“I was just staring off, trying to take everything like… did this just happen to me,” Angelie told 9News.

The aged care worker recalled her incredibly lucky escape, revealing she made a split-second decision that could have saved her life.

“I went to the kitchen and was about to leave all the food in there, and just check that the door was locked,” Valerio said.

“But I hesitated, cause I thought I can’t leave the food, I don’t want to risk burning it.”

That’s when the crash happened.

Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the fact that nobody was seriously injured is “a miracle”.

“Luckily, an off-duty nurse was present and was already offering reassurance and care to the trapped individual,” Dewberry mentioned.

The driver, a man in his 60s, was rescued from the Audi, taken to Nepean Hospital with minor injuries, and given an infringement notice for negligent driving.

No charges have been laid and NSW Police investigations are continuing.
