The 84-year-old mother of U.S. television anchor Savannah Guthrie has been missing, with authorities suspecting her abduction from her residence in Tucson, Arizona, nearly two weeks ago.
On Thursday (Friday AEDT), the New York Post released a video showing investigators collecting a glove from a roadside, located approximately three kilometers from Nancy Guthrie’s home.
Andy Black, a former FBI special agent who previously worked in Tucson, emphasized the significance of DNA analysis on the glove for advancing the investigation.
“Investigators will be checking for any evidence on these gloves that could link them to the home,” Black shared with audiences on the Today show this morning.
“There could potentially be blood from Nancy Guthrie on them, which would provide a crucial lead through DNA analysis. This discovery might be a pivotal breakthrough in the case.”
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her Tucson home on January 31, and since then, law enforcement agencies have been following up on various leads.
On Thursday, a white tent was put in place directly outside the front door of the property before being taken down shortly afterwards.
Investigators were also seen packing up a large black case along with other items they had brought into the home.
