“The document released last week does not contradict the widely accepted finding that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election, although they did not successfully alter any votes,” stated Obama’s office.
The statement comes after the current US President accused Obama of “treason” earlier this week.
He claimed that documents reviewed by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, found Obama “guilty”.
“He’s guilty. This was treason. This encompassed every term you can imagine. They attempted to steal the election. They endeavored to obfuscate the election. They did things that no one had ever even conceived,” Trump remarked when questioned by a reporter about who should be the primary focus of Gabbard’s investigation.
“These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction,” Obama’s office replied.
