A search has ended on the Gold Coast after police found a woman who had reportedly been swept off the rocks into the sea three days ago.
The woman was found “alive and well” at 11am following a land, air and sea search by Queensland Water Police, PolAir and Surf Lifesaving Queensland.
Queensland Police said they were unsure whether a woman was actually taken by the waves, as the man who made the report was not present when officers arrived and hasn’t spoken to police since.
The unknown man called police around 9.30pm on March 21, to an area off Currumbin Beach near Elephant Rock, saying a woman had been swept off the rocks.
No information had been provided about the woman’s identity when the report was made.
It is believed the woman had been fishing.
