A large-scale search operation is currently underway for an individual named Andy, whose surname has not been disclosed.

Andy was part of a camping group consisting of 15 people in Murray-Sunset National Park, located in the north-western region of the state.

He departed alone from the Shearers Quarters camping site to embark on an 8-kilometer hike along the Millewa South Bore Track, heading towards the South Australian border around 11 a.m. yesterday.

Since then, he has not been sighted.

The search effort involves police, the Air Wing, Dog Squad, Mounted Branch, and Search and Rescue Squad, alongside officers from the State Emergency Service (SES), all working to locate Andy.

There is growing concern as Andy lacks substantial hiking experience and has been missing for over 24 hours.

He is of Asian appearance and 173cm tall with a slim build.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper, grey trackpants, black steel-cap boots and was carrying a black backpack.
