Late last night, a man and a woman found themselves in a tense situation while sitting in their car on The Esplanade in Narre Warren. Around 10:30 PM, they were abruptly approached by another man, leading to a rapid escalation.

Police will allege a 52-year-old man, who is known to the pair, stabbed the 37-year-old inside the vehicle.

In an attempt to flee from the threat, the 37-year-old driver hurriedly left the scene. However, his escape took a tragic turn when he collided with another vehicle at an intersection approximately two kilometers away in Cranbourne North. The impact left him critically injured and he was subsequently rushed to The Alfred Hospital.

Local residents expressed concern over the incident, noting that Narre Warren is generally a peaceful area. “It’s quite concerning, but it’s happening all over Victoria, so it’s not something unusual,” remarked one neighbor, reflecting a wider sense of unease within the community.

Following the incident, a 52-year-old man has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury. He made his court appearance this afternoon, marking the beginning of legal proceedings in this unsettling case.
