Oasis expressed their “shock and sadness” on Sunday following the tragic incident where a man lost his life during their concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, emergency services, including officers and paramedics, attended to reports of an injured individual shortly before 10:30 pm (7:30 am AEST) on Saturday night.

It said a man in his 40s was found “with injuries consistent with a fall”.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force urged anyone who saw what happened or caught it on phone video to contact police.

“We are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic death of a fan at last night’s performance,” Oasis stated, extending “heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the individual affected.”

A spokesperson for Wembley also issued a statement, noting that the man’s family, who remains unnamed, is being provided with specialized support services.

“Despite [emergency] efforts, the fan very sadly died,” the statement said.

“Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.”

The Britpop icons’ first tour in 16 years kicked off on July 4 in Cardiff, Wales.

Saturday’s concert was the fourth of seven planned shows at Wembley.
