Police remain on scene this morning as they attempt to map out an "extensive" crime scene.
A man is in custody after three of his family members died following an alleged attack in their home in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

An appalling crime scene confronted emergency responders, as the parents and brother of a detained individual were found dead, and another brother sustained injuries.

The injured brother, aged 30, managed to alert the police, prompting their arrival along with paramedics at a residence on Juliet Close in Rosemeadow shortly after 1:30 am.

Upon entering the premises, they discovered a 65-year-old woman who, despite the paramedics’ efforts, could not be saved and was pronounced dead on the spot.

Further investigation of the main house and the adjacent granny flat revealed the body of a 25-year-old man. Additionally, a 64-year-old man was located with critical head injuries.

He was swiftly transported to Liverpool Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later that morning.

The brother who survived has since been discharged from medical care.

Superintendent Grant Healey said the family was not well known to police, calling it a “tragic incident.” (Nine)

Superintendent Grant Healey said emergency services were faced with a “horrendous” scene.

“They were confronted with a very bloody scene,” he said, confirming the victims showed signs of suffering from blunt force trauma injuries as well as injuries caused by an edged bladed weapon.

“The police and ambulance did a fantastic job in very trying circumstances.”

Healy said no weapons had been recovered, but that police were still investigating an “extensive” crime scene.

At about 2.30am, a silver sedan arrived at the home, and police arrested the driver, a 32-year-old man.

He is related to all of the people found inside the house, with the two people in their 60s being his parents, and the two other men being his brothers.

The 32-year-old was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he is assisting police. He has not been charged with any offences.

Healy said police were still piecing together where the man was between police arriving on the scene and his return to the house.

He said the family was not well known to police, especially for domestic violence incidents.

“The family weren’t known to us, this is a very tragic incident, there was no way for us to predict this kind of thing to occur,” he said.

A crime scene has been established, with officers connected to the Homicide Squad beginning an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
