All southbound lanes have now reopened safely, and traffic is flowing smoothly with no current delays for drivers. The vehicle’s driver is cooperating with the authorities.

As a safety precaution, the southbound tunnel’s sprinkler system has been temporarily deactivated due to infrastructure damage.

Fire and Rescue NSW has been alerted, and necessary safety measures have been put in place.

Repair teams will carry out maintenance work to replace the damaged sprinkler heads outside of peak hours. These repairs are planned for tonight after further evaluation.

Transport for NSW extends its gratitude to drivers for their patience and cooperation as crews worked to address the incident and restore normal traffic conditions. Drivers are advised to check Live Traffic for the latest updates.
