Comedian posts rant urging LA residents NOT to vote for Spencer Pratt

A well-known comedian with a reputation for progressive views has released an extensive critique aimed at persuading Los Angeles residents against supporting the unexpected candidate, Spencer Pratt.

Adam Conover, 43, shared a video on Tuesday via the social media platform X, where he expressed his support for Democratic candidate Nithya Raman in the race for mayor. However, the comedian faced a barrage of criticism in the comments that followed his post.

Raman, 44, who is currently a member of the city council, initially led the mayoral race in California but has since slipped in the polls. She is now neck and neck with 42-year-old reality TV star Spencer Pratt for the second-highest number of votes, both trailing behind the current mayor, Karen Bass.

In Conover’s message, he elaborated on Los Angeles’ primary system, which allows the top two candidates, irrespective of their political affiliation, to proceed to the general election.

As Mayor Bass maintains a lead in the race, Conover is urging voters to rally behind Councilwoman Raman to decisively end Pratt’s chances of advancing.

“Currently, Spencer and Nithya are tied for second place. This means if we can push her into the second spot, we can prevent Spencer from reaching the general election altogether and effectively end his political aspirations,” Conover stated.

‘And instead of having to fend off this vaccine-denying, Alex Jones-loving right-winger all year, we’ll be able to have an actual debate about the future of the city that we love.’

The comedian also highlighted how Pratt ‘hates Los Angeles so much’ after he said if he loses the race, he will flee the city.

Adam Conover, 43, was eviscerated online after posting a nearly minute-long video to X on Tuesday endorsing Democrat Nithya Raman for mayor of Los Angeles

Conover ranted about not allowing dark-horse candidate Spencer Pratt to win a primary seat for the general election calling him a ‘vaccine-denying, Alex Jones-loving right-winger’

‘Well, good news, we can send Spencer to Arkansas on June 2 by voting for Nithya,’ Conover said with joy.

‘Make Spencer pack his bag, vote for Nithya Raman.’

It appears Conover’s rant was not received well by many, who ruthlessly insulted him in his own comment section.

One user wrote: ‘LA is a complete s*** hole and you want a debate from two career politicians who are directly responsible for the mess. You’re a f****** r******* f-tier useless celebrity. Congrats.’

Another added: ‘Anyone who actually listens to anything you have to say is more r******* than you are.’

A third wrote: ‘It’s not about Spencer Pratt. It’s the right-wing boogeyman derangement syndrome you can’t shake. LA is literally on fire, and you’re voting for the same people who are causing these fires. The f*** is wrong with people.

The rant was not the first stone thrown by the comedian; his X account has been riddled with posts throughout May denouncing Pratt as the primary election creeps closer.

The day before Conover released his plan, Pratt’s campaign announced that they had increased his security team after receiving death threats.

In an exclusive statement from Pratt’s campaign to the Daily Mail, Pratt’s head of security said that the reality star has received ‘credible threats’ on his life.

‘In response, we have increased and adjusted his security detail accordingly. We are also working closely with the LAPD to ensure the ongoing safety of Spencer and his family,’ they said.

‘I will not be providing any further details. Our sole focus is the protection of Spencer and his loved ones — not feeding tabloid speculation.’

Pratt’s political run picked up steam as he targeted Bass for how she managed the Palisades Fire, which burned his own home down and left him living in the $2,500-a-night Hotel Bel-Air.

He has also highlighted the high levels of drug use and rampant homelessness in LA, promising a three-week ‘grace period’ to warn criminals, drug users, and homeless people to leave the city.

However, Pratt has insisted that he ‘does not represent a party’ after being labeled a ‘MAGA Republican’ by Raman, who is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

‘I represent all of Los Angeles,’ Pratt told NBC Los Angeles last Friday. ‘I don’t have a campaign manager. I don’t have campaign consultants. There’s no political party backing me.’
