Dramatic video shows floodwaters ripping apart a bridge in Nepal as devastating flash floods swept through the South Asian nation.
The Budhi Gandaki River rose rapidly, battering the bridge until the structure collapsed and was carried downstream. The flooding struck the Gorkha district over the weekend, according to footage posted by WABC Eyewitness News.
Authorities said at least five people are still missing.
More than 80 people have been pulled from the powerful currents, while six others were rescued from the landslide-prone area of Jagat, Prime Minister Balendra Shah said in a social media post.
The latest flooding marks the second major natural disaster to hit Nepal in just two months.

On Aug. 26, a glacier collapse triggered an avalanche and sent a deadly wall of water surging from the Himalayas near Nepal’s border with China. More than 1,400 people were killed, while thousands remain missing.
Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, a senior Gorkha district official, said authorities moved quickly after the latest flash flood to help villages affected by the disaster.
“We have asked villages living along the river banks downstream to evacuate and remain safe,” he said.
