Ellie Watkins has shared a playful follow-up after suffering a wardrobe mishap earlier this week, joking to her social media followers that she has now been out shopping for bras.
The 30-year-old, who is married to Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, revealed she forgot to pack the essential item of underwear when she attended the Ghana game in Boston. Watkins has not yet featured at the World Cup.
Ellie described the day as a “nightmare,” explaining that the wet and gloomy weather also forced her to abandon the summery outfit she had originally planned to wear.
Instead, she opted for a white tank top, jeans, a red jacket and an England baseball cap. She also appeared to poke fun at Roy Keane, asking whether he “approved” after his recent criticism of WAGs wearing shirts bearing their partners’ names.
On Wednesday, after travelling from Boston to New York, Ellie posted another update, cheekily telling fans she had “got the goods” alongside a photo of mannequins dressed in bras, complete with a laughing emoji.
Although she did not identify the shop, the display appeared to match that of Skims, the popular lingerie brand with a flagship store on Fifth Avenue in the centre of New York’s shopping district.
Skims sells bras ranging from around $34 for a basic design to $78 for its popular push-up style. According to fashion industry publication Women’s Wear Daily, the brand has also been boosted by a string of major campaigns featuring stars including Kim Kardashian, Charli XCX, Lana Del Rey and Sabrina Carpenter.
Campaigns fronted by Del Rey and Carpenter are reported to have generated $10 million, while England midfielder Jude Bellingham has appeared in the brand’s men’s underwear advertising alongside music star Usher.

Ellie described for her 31,000 followers how she continued on her shopping spree by stopping off at Louis Vuitton’s flagship store, where Jordan Pickford’s wife Megan had picked up a $660 calf skin World Cup wallet for him as a gift.
Both women then met up for lunch with Ellie posting a picture of a delicious looking meringue cake with crown icing decoration as she and Megan enjoyed a lunch date.
Other WAGS in New York include John Stones’s wife Olivia, Bukayo Saka’s girlfriend Tolami Benson and Bellingham’s partner Ashlyn Castro and some of them hit the trendy New York night spot Somewhere Nowhere in the heart of Manhattan.
The eclectic 39th floor night spot, with its $20 cocktails, features a lounge, nightclub and rooftop pool in a wonderland setting and is popular with A-list stars including Cardi B and Jaden Smith.
Wives, girlfriends and family members have opted not to fly back to their Florida HQ given the short turn around between games and have opted to stay in New York flying down there on Wednesday.
Within hours of arriving Megan had hit the shops and paid a visit to the Louis Vuitton store in Manhattan where she bought the $660 green wallet decorated with a football pitch and players in red and blue strips.
On its website Louis Vuitton describes the cowhide wallet as bringing a ‘dynamic touch’ and Megan said on her social media: ‘Bought husband a special World Cup wallet.’
Other images she posted on Instagram showed her shopping in Cristian Dior and taking the couple’s three children, Arlo, seven, Ostara, three and one-year-old Misty for a traditional New York corn dog snack.

On Wednesday the players had a recovery session including yoga in the park before training behind closed doors and flying to New York for their match at the Met Life stadium on Friday.
They were also spotted on a bike ride around the park in front of their £250 Kansas City hotel the Inn at Meadowbank and delighted fans by stopping to sign shirts and autographs.
The team face almost two weeks without a full day off as they start what could be a run of four games in 14 days.
If they beat Panama and win the Group they would have a round-of-32 match in Atlanta on July 1 for the right to play in the last 16 in Mexico City on July 5.
Unless manager Thomas Tuchel changes England’s routine, there will be no space for a full day off until July 3 – two days after a potential round-of-32 game.
England’s last full rest day was last Friday, June 19, when families were invited into the hotel, meaning the players would go 13 days without a 24-hour break should they top their group and reach the last 16.
It is unclear whether they would return to Kansas City from Mexico City or fly straight to Miami, where their potential quarter-final would be played.
Tuchel gave his players one and a half days off after the Croatia win in the knowledge that it could be their last chance of a proper rest for some time.

‘We have had a few days off where I have been able to see my family so it has been relaxed,’ Nico O’Reilly said.
‘My family’s out here supporting, so I do get to see them. All the lads are great. All the staff are great with us.’
Asked what he had been doing in his spare time, the England left-back added: ‘Not much to be honest, a lot of recovery stuff around the hotel and making sure I am ready for games, ready for training.
‘I have really enjoyed it. The training facility is great and we are downtown where we can just wander and relax, and I have been enjoying it.’
However Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins revealed how on a walkabout in Kansas City he had made a howling faux pas by wearing a Dallas Cowboys shirt.
He said: ‘I wore a Dallas Cowboys jersey into Kansas the other day, and I was with my family, and the guy said to me, “You can’t wear that around here.” So yeah, I won’t be wearing that again.’
