Several people were arrested in central London after crowds gathered in Piccadilly Circus following England’s World Cup quarter-final victory.
Videos filmed overnight showed a heavy police presence in the area as supporters spilled into the streets, blocked traffic, climbed onto bollards, danced and let off fireworks.
The celebrations followed the Three Lions’ 2-1 win over Norway in Miami, secured by midfielder Jude Bellingham, who scored in the first half and again two minutes into extra time.
In one clip showing the disorder in London, an eyewitness could be heard saying: “Police have lost control. Everyone’s going mental after the England win against Norway.
“Kicking off — absolute carnage.
“Piccadilly Circus, celebrating, police trying to move everyone on. It’s going to kick off.”
Another video captured supporters cheering and screaming as fireworks were launched, while many in the crowd recorded the scenes on their phones.
Separate footage appeared to show arrests being made, including one young man being pushed against a wall and placed in handcuffs as drivers sounded their horns nearby.

He can be heard shouting: ‘Oh my god. I’m not even doing anything.’
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment.
The Prince of Wales led celebrations today, hailing the ‘special team’ as England stormed to the semi-finals.
He also extended his commiserations to Norway who had produced their best ever finish at a World Cup.
There were ecstatic scenes both in the stadium and at fan zones across the country when Jude Bellingham scored his second goal of the match in extra time.
The team will now take on the winners of Argentina against Switzerland at 8pm on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer also joined in with the celebrations. He posted: ‘Norway 1 – 2 Jude Bellingham.

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid added: ‘They rowed. We roared! Dare to dream. Well done, Three Lions!’
Overjoyed football fans at Boxpark in Wembley belted out Three Lions and Hey Jude after England won their match.
Fabian Maddix, 31, said watching the game was ‘euphoric’, adding: ‘I had hopes but after the first goal went in from them, I started doubting things, but I always believe.’
He said he is now going to go home and celebrate.
Kish Kerai, 34, said the match was ‘electrifying’ but that he planned to go home and sleep.
He said: ‘I had doubts but I feel like England have courage and they have heart, which you can’t replace and nothing on paper will ever be able to replace that.’
In Miami, the Three Lions were trailing when Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland took a goal kick in first-half added time.
Footage appeared to show the ball’s trajectory suddenly changing before it dropped near the halfway line to Elliot Anderson, who teed up Anthony Gordon on the left wing.
Gordon then played a superb cross through to Jude Bellingham, who took two touches before firing past Nyland to draw England level just before the break.
Harry Kane snuck one into the back of the net not long after but the goal was disallowed for offside.
There was also nervousness when Norway took their turn to go 2-1 in front but their goal was also scrubbed off the board following a VAR call.
Despite Saturday’s victory, England boss Thomas Tuchel had strong words for his team at the final whistle.
He said: ‘I am not happy with the performance.
‘We made life very difficult for ourselves. We were sloppy, repetitive. We were lucky today.’
On the topic of Bellingham’s genius, Tuchel agreed: ‘Enough said. He does it every match. World class.’
