Republican lawmakers have unveiled a collection of emails from the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which purportedly contain references to controversial photographs of former President Donald Trump. These emails suggest that Epstein possessed images of Trump with women in bikinis at his residence.
The House Oversight Committee, which features Florida Representative and Trump ally Anna Paulina Luna, disclosed 23,000 pages of documents from Epstein’s estate on Wednesday. This release comes in response to a previous batch of emails made public by Democrats.
Both Republican and Democratic members of the committee are conducting their own investigations into Epstein, operating independently of the Justice Department under Trump’s administration.
Among the emails is a 2018 exchange between Epstein and Kathy Ruemmler, who served as White House Counsel under President Obama. This communication occurred a decade after Epstein’s conviction for sex offenses and less than a year before his death, which was officially ruled a suicide.
In the email chain, Ruemmler discusses Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, turning against the President over controversial payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. She notes, “It makes no difference whether it was [Trump’s] money. Issue is failure to disclose. Plus, the fact that he has lied about it makes clear that he knew it was illegal.”
Epstein responded, indicating his awareness of Trump’s alleged misconduct, stating, “You see, I know how dirty Donald is. My guess is that non-lawyer New York business people have no idea what it means to have your fixer flip.”
Cohen’s hush money payments before the 2016 election to the porn star became a major scandal for the President. Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records related to the payments in May 2024.
In another email exchange dated December 2015 to New York Times journalist Thomas Landon Jr, Epstein claimed he had photos of Trump with girls in bikinis in his kitchen.
‘Would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?’ Epstein asks the journalist.

The Epstein email fallout has caused a stir in the White House on Wednesday
In a follow-up exchange with the reporter, Epstein claims Trump almost walked through a glass door because he was distracted by young women.
‘Have them ask my houseman about Donald almost walking through the door leaving his nose print on the glass as young women were swimming in the pool,’ Epstein wrote to Landon in December 2015.
‘He was so focused he walked straight into the door.’
In another email exchange, an unknown individual tells Epstein that they are waiting outside because they didn’t ‘want to come early to find Trump in your house.’
Prior to the Republicans releasing these emails, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee published other communications between Epstein and his former madam Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as author Michael Wolff, discussing Trump.
The Democrats redacted the victim’s name, including in a 2011 email Epstein sent Maxwell which claimed the girl ‘spent hours at my house with’ Trump.
The individual referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the email dump a politically motivated ‘smear’ campaign and repeated Giuffre’s former statements about Trump in which she absolved him of any wrongdoing.

Giuffre, who committed suicide earlier this year, was recruited by Maxwell while employed as a spa attendant at the Mar-a-Lago Club in 2000. She was 16 years old.
Trump expelled Epstein from his club around October 2007 ‘for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,’ Leavitt said.
In an email dated April 2, 2011, Epstein wrote to Maxwell: ‘i want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. virignia [sic] spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned. police chief. etc. im 75% there.’
The context of Epstein’s email exchanges are not clear. The communications were released after Democrats subpoenaed Epstein’s estate earlier this year.
Trump did not send or receive any of the emails, and he has not been charged with any crime in relation to Epstein or Maxwell.
