SAVANNAH, Ga. () — City council and staff have finalized the details on the Savannah GPS “Your Future, Your Voice” campaign.

More than 1,200 residents contributed to the planning process through community meetings, online surveys and more.

Feedback from locals was instrumental in shaping six essential priorities. According to City Manager Jay Melder and his team, some adjustments were necessary to truly reflect the aspirations of the community.

The priorities are as follows:

1. Increase public safety and the collective sense of security.

2. Invest in equitable community development and resiliency.

3. Expand economic access, opportunity and vitality for all.

4. Develop world-class livable environments and infrastructure.

5. Improve quality of life by raising municipal service standards.

6. Always be a high-performing government.

Alderwoman Bernetta Lanier, representing District 1, emphasized the importance of keeping residents central in both the plan and its execution process.

“This approach is precisely how we ought to proceed, positioning this as a more inclusive strategic plan for the city,” Lanier stated. “Our focus and attention are on crafting a plan steered by residents, led by the main stakeholders, who are our community members and taxpayers.”

There is no set date on when the city will start to implement the plan.

The next time you can make your voice heard is on July 12 during the first Speak Out Savannah meeting or online by sharing what you think should be prioritized in the City of Savannah’s annual budget review process.
