The dress featured an unusual neckline accent that resembled a crumpled bow, adding to the avant-garde aesthetic.
Additionally, the garment included sheer paneling that formed a V-shape from her hips to her inner thigh, an element that some found oddly placed.

Highlights from Sunday’s award show will be incorporated at the 98th Academy Awards in March.
According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the statuette is ‘to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences in any discipline, or for outstanding service to the Academy.’
