Francesca Scorsese, daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese, has taken a stand against online critics targeting her appearance.
The 26-year-old, who has recently secured a role in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” addressed the harsh remarks she received via TikTok on Saturday.
“I have to mention that my latest post about this fantastic new role I’ve landed has attracted some of the most negative comments I’ve ever encountered,” she expressed.
Francesca, one of the three children of the renowned director, acknowledged, “It’s part of the territory, but this is on another level.”
She also admitted that her career has benefited from nepotism but emphasized her dedication to her craft.
“I get it. I know I have had opportunities because of my background. Yet, I’m committed—working hard, staying passionate, and creating. However, if you deliberately seek out negativity in others’ posts, it speaks volumes about your own unhappiness,” she remarked.

The 26-year-old nepo baby – who was just cast in Mr. and Mrs. Smith – took to TikTok on Saturday to call out ‘horrible’ comments made about her.
Francesca listed some of the insults hurled at her as she continued, ‘Comparing me to a fridge or Miss Piggy or saying I have a face for radio and that I’m incredibly ugly and fat…I get it.
‘I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the skinniest girl in the world. I’m chubby, I know it.
‘But, like, what the f**k does it matter? Go outside on the street, look at people around you. Look at your mom, look at your f**king sisters.’
‘It’s making me so sad for – not myself – it’s making me sad for other people,’ she stressed.
‘I’ve seen so many horrible comments on other girls’ posts, because looks are the only things that people can really pick on.’
Scorsese, 83, shares Francesca with wife Helen Morris, 79.
He is also father to daughters Cathy, 60, whom he shares with ex-wife Laraine Marie Brennan and Domenica, 49, with ex-wife Julia Cameron.
Francesca received a slew of positive comments on her TikTok video, including one from actress Ashley Benson, who wrote, ‘Haters gonna hate, baby. You are a gem.’
Francesca wrote in the comments, ‘There are so many lovely comments on here and I can’t respond to you all but I am taken aback by the love and support and I just want to say I love and appreciate all of you. Thank you.’

The actress said online, ‘I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the skinniest girl in the world. I’m chubby, I know it. ‘But, like, what the f**k does it matter?’
Like her filmmaker father, Francesca graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
‘He is the best teacher, guide, just overall mentor – and also, he’s literally my best friend. I tell him everything,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter about her dad in 2023.
Francesca’s directorial debut was 2023’s short drama film Fish Out of Water.
Last week her casting as Jane Smith in season two of the Amazon Prime series Mr. and Mrs. Smith was announced by Deadline.
Mark Eydelshteyn and Talia Ryder will also star in the series.
Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, who led the first season, are also expected to return.
