Gael Cameron has spoken publicly for the first time since her Below Deck co-star and former partner left Australia while facing an arrest warrant, following his conviction for assaulting her.
As Nathan Gallagher remains at large, the 30-year-old mother of his child told supporters she is “quietly healing and rebuilding” after months of turmoil.
Ms Cameron, who was present in court when a judge found Gallagher guilty of choking and asphyxiating her as their baby son lay beside her, did not refer to him by name in her Instagram story. However, she appeared to acknowledge the ordeal she has endured.
“Hey guys I just want to say thank you so much for all the support you’ve shown Kayden and I,” she wrote.
“It’s been a tough season but I have been using the past few months to quietly heal and rebuild for little man and myself.
“I really appreciate the love you have sent our way especially with everything that’s come to light and I’m really working on finding myself and moving forward.”

Although she did not mention Gallagher directly or detail his offences, Ms Cameron said she was focused on healing and rebuilding for herself and her young son
Gallagher and Ms Cameron met on Below Deck Mediterranean Season Nine as deckhands, and continued filming for Seasons 10 and 11, including scenes now showing with their child after Ms Cameron gave birth to Kayden in June last year.
US television network Bravo revealed that Gallagher had been dropped from the series and it would no longer be working with him.
Below Deck fans from around the world have called on Bravo to go one step further and dump the episodes featuring Ms Cameron and Gallagher.
‘I can’t believe Bravo has not addressed this given he’s the star of a show currently airing,’ one wrote on Reddit.
‘Get this piece of s*** off my TV,’ another wrote.
‘A black screen before the episode saying they don’t support his behaviour … would be the bare minimum and there’s not even that,’ a third added.

Social media users have also dredged up old comments he made following the Bondi Beach massacre.
Gallagher was on a boat tagging sharks off Bondi when the shooting began in the early evening of December 14.
He helped people swimming in the ocean onto his boat, then posted photos and words on Instagram, taking a swipe at Muslims, the faith of the alleged shooters, Naveed and Sajid Akram.
‘Terrifying and disgusting behaviour. Anyone who thinks it’s okay to let these people into any other country than their own can go f*** themselves,’ the post read.
‘These acts paint a picture for all of them. OUT! Out of every country. Out of Europe and out of Australia.’

The comment immediately sparked outrage, with one person demanding an apology, and describing the content as ‘racist’ and ‘xenophobic’.
Gallagher defended the post, saying it was an ’emotional response’ and ‘these people’ referred to terrorists and criminals.
He added would was not ‘apologising for it’ and pointed out ‘Gael’s family are Muslims’.
After the Bondi shootings, Gallagher went on Irish radio and featured in Belfast and his home county of Donegal media talking about his actions.
‘If I went home and I turned a blind eye to it I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night if I didn’t contribute to saving a few people so there wasn’t a thought in my mind to turn away,’ he said.
Gallagher and Ms Cameron’s boy was six months old when, according to a sickening set of NSW Police facts, he lay next to his mother as Gallagher brutally choked, trapped, punched and strangled Ms Cameron.

Gallagher, who is also the subject of a police arrest warrant in his native Ireland for failing to appear last year on the alleged 2022 assault of a man, is sought by NSW Police.
If he arrived back in Sydney he would be arrested immediately and would be subject to a prison sentence for his three offences against Ms Cameron: assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and intentionally choke person without consent.
He violently attacked Ms Cameron in their Melrose Park apartment in northwestern Sydney on the night of Boxing Day last year after a verbal argument.
The facts say that while assaulting her and ‘preventing the victim from breathing and making noise, [he] held the victim down on the bedroom floor, wrapping his legs around the victim to better control her’.
Ms Cameron turned up at Burwood Local Court last Tuesday to testify at a hearing into the charges listed before Judge Janine Lacy.
When prosecutors told Her Honour that Gallagher had skipped the hearing, and the country and that he was ‘offshore’ she convicted him in his absence and ordered the arrest warrant.
Scathing comments about Gallagher online included the fact that he released a statement minimising his guilt, saying there was ‘another side to the story’ and he had video and texts to support that.
Ms Cameron has a Scottish father, Allan Cameron, and an Indonesian mother, Sulianti Boenyanto whose heritage she proudly represented during the 2018 Pageant of the World contest, which she won.
The model and TV star has a fashion and design degree from the Sydney University of Technology.
Daily Mail understands Gallagher risks arrest should he return to the Republic of Ireland. An unconfirmed sighting of him placed him recently in Northern Ireland.
