Megan Stalter made quite the entrance on Today With Jenna & Friends Tuesday (July 15) morning.
The actress was in town promoting her upcoming Netflix series Too Much and made a memorable entrance into the studio, sporting sunglasses, a bathrobe, and hair rollers. She greeted Jenna Bush Hager and celebrity guest host, Ciara, with enthusiasm.
The ladies could not hold back their laughter as they took in Stalter’s unexpected outfit.
“Hi Megan! Wow, this is a look,” Bush Hager commented as she gave Stalter a hug.
“Apologies for not being fully ready yet,” Stalter joked as she embraced Ciara. She took a seat in the spot meant for Ciara and Bush Hager until the hosts playfully requested she switch to the opposite couch.
Amidst all of the laughter, Stalter told the ladies, “I’m so glad we could make this work. I know you’ve been wanting me on the show.”
Stalter is clearly relishing her time in the spotlight. The comedic actress has gained fame as the bold assistant Kayla Schaeffer on HBO Max’s Hacks. Now, she’s shining as the lead and romantic centerpiece in Lena Dunham‘s new Netflix series, Too Much.
Stalter even complained that Today started broadcasting a bit too early for her schedule.
“We have been wanting you on the show!” Bush Hager told her. “Now, what is happening here? Your fit is great but what is happening?”
“Right back at you both sisters,” Stalter told Ciara and Bush Hager. “Um, I just didn’t have a lot of time to get ready. You guys start so early, I have such a big day of press.” She then turned and asked someone off-camera, “By the way, are we good on time?”
And a star is born!
The actress stars in Too Much as a young professional who moves to London for work and, hopefully, a new shot at love. But she gets more than she bargained for when she meets an indie musician.
Decider’s Joel Keller praised Stalter’s leading performance in a review of the new series, calling her a “brash and entertaining comedic presence.”
Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
