England’s WAGs were left in tears in the stands on Wednesday night as Argentina ended the Three Lions’ World Cup run in dramatic fashion.
Megan Pickford appeared crushed as her husband, England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, broke down on the pitch following the painful defeat.
The night had started with hope for England, who went ahead when Anthony Gordon finished from a Morgan Rogers cross to put the Three Lions 1-0 up.
But Argentina, the defending champions, hit back late through Enzo Fernández, whose long-range effort brought the match level and shifted the momentum.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Lionel Messi delivered a teasing cross to the far post, where Lautaro Martínez rose to head in the winner.
When the final whistle sounded, Megan, 30, was visibly emotional, placing her hands on her head as the scale of England’s exit sank in.

Like all of this year’s England WAGs, Megan had prepared a glamorous designer wardrobe to take her seat in the stands for England’s World Cup matches.
But her chance to debut her looks was hit by a week-long delay when Megan revealed her airline had lost her suitcase last month.
Hours ahead of England’s match against Ghana on Tuesday, Megan revealed she’d finally been reunited with her suitcase.
Posting a hilarious update on her social media accounts on Monday night Megan uploaded a video of her opening the door of her hotel room to see her prized baggage.
Dressed in pink joggers and top Megan pulls the suitcase into her room and gives it a big hug as Abba’s classic hit ‘Honey Honey’ played.
She wrote: ‘A special delivery arrived it will not be leaving my sight before tomorrow’s game,’ ending the post with the hashtag suitcasegate.
Fellow WAG Ellie wrote ‘Hahaha so happy for you,’ while Megan added the first thing she was going to buy was an air tag to track her luggage.
