On November 27, 2024, Kroy “KJ” Biermann shouted at his mother in front of police officers outside the family’s once-happy Georgia home.
“You are a horrible example of a parent!” the then-13-year-old yelled after an argument broke out between his parents, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak, 48, and former NFL player Kroy Biermann, 40, according to police bodycam footage obtained by Our News Outlet.
It was not the first time officers had been called to the home to intervene between the estranged couple, whose bitter divorce and custody dispute remains ongoing.
Now 15, KJ has had several encounters with the law following years of turmoil at home. He could face at least 25 years in prison if convicted after being arrested on August 17 on suspicion of sexually abusing a female classmate.
According to a police report obtained by Our News Outlet, he is accused of forcing the girl to perform oral sex and attacking her with his hands. KJ’s attorney has denied the allegations.
The alleged incident occurred on April 23 in a family changing room at a local Lifetime Fitness, the report states. The girl was later treated at a hospital for sexual assault.

Kim Zolciak’s son KJ Biermann could face up to 25 years in prison after being indicted earlier this month on seven criminal charges, including aggravated sexual battery. His attorney has denied the allegations.

The 15-year-old is the son of reality stars Kroy Biermann, 40, and Kim Zolciak, 48, pictured, and has appeared on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Don’t Be Tardy.

KJ was arrested on August 17, 2026, by the Alpharetta Police Department on allegations of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. His attorney denies the claims.
During a Georgia court hearing on September 11, prosecutors told the judge that KJ had previously faced another sexual-assault allegation involving a family member younger than 12.
The matter had remained confidential because it was handled in juvenile court. However, it emerged that KJ had been under court supervision since October 2025, when the alleged incidents reportedly took place and were allegedly recorded on his cellphone.
KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, denied the allegations. In a statement to Our News Outlet, he said: “The characterizations made in court regarding the prior juvenile matter involving KJ Biermann grossly misrepresent both the facts and the ultimate resolution of that case.
“The matter arose from inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers. It did not result in an adjudication for statutory rape, sexual intercourse, or any comparable offense. Any suggestion otherwise is inaccurate and creates a materially misleading impression of how the juvenile matter was ultimately resolved.”
Our News Outlet can now reveal more about life inside the homes shared by Zolciak and Biermann, including their former marital residence and subsequent homes. The details include assessments by a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, who has monitored the children’s best interests since 2025 as the couple fought over custody.
The estranged couple share joint legal custody of their minor children: KJ, Kash, 14, and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane. Biermann currently has primary physical custody. Zolciak also has two daughters, Brielle Biermann, 29, and Ariana Biermann, 24, who are estranged from their adoptive father, Biermann.
According to temporary orders filed by the judge, Zolciak temporarily lost physical custody of the children twice—first in April and again on May 1. The orders came after she was described as “unstable and unfit.”

The development comes two years after police bodycam footage obtained by Our News Outlet showed KJ, pictured, shouting at his father Kroy outside the family’s Georgia home following an argument between his parents.

KJ’s sibling Kaia also appeared distressed in the footage. She showed officers an elbow with blood on it and said she had simply “fallen.”
“[The children] are subject to ongoing emotional and psychological abuse,” Biermann wrote in one filing. In another, Zolciak claimed the children were “at risk of ongoing mental and physical abuse.”
Throughout the divorce and custody proceedings, Zolciak and Biermann remained in regular contact with the children’s therapist and the court-appointed Guardian ad Litem.
In addition to regular therapy sessions, the minor children were appointed a psychological evaluator as of early last year, who has been investigating their daily lives and protecting their best interests.
One example Biermann provided in a court filing at the time of Zolciak being allegedly an ‘unfit’ parent, he claimed, was that ‘she frequently leaves them alone or under the care of others for significant periods of time,’ and she ‘takes no initiative and shows no interest in providing for the children’s mental health and well-being, leaving all therapy appointments and scheduling to [Kroy].’
He also claimed that the children have ‘undergone significant trauma’ throughout the separation and divorce. They separated in April 2023.
Biermann alleged in his filing, prior to gaining primary custody, that it was a ‘matter of urgency’ to grant it to him since psychological evaluations showed that ‘potentially catastrophic consequences on the short and long term mental and psychological well-being’ of the children could occur.
‘As time has passed it has become evident that the children’s mental health has deteriorated significantly under the current parenting plan,’ he previously wrote in court documents from August 2025.
However, the TV personality has alleged in her filing that Biermann, whom she was married to for 11 years, was also lacking as a parent.

Biermann was granted primary physical custody of his and Zolciak’s four minor children as of April of this year. He shares KJ, 15, Kash 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12, with Zolciak

Zolciak insisted the children were ‘at risk of ongoing mental and physical abuse,’ in a filing
She alleged that KJ, specifically, suffered ‘abuse’ at the hands of his father.
In a June 2026 filing from their ongoing divorce case, the reality star recalled an incident between KJ and Biermann at his home.
‘In October 2025, the eldest minor child reported being physically thrown over the couch by Plaintiff during a heated argument at Plaintiff’s home,’ the documents state.
She added that ‘at least one of the minor children has disclosed to his therapist (heaped upon him by the Guardian ad Litem) a pattern of mental, emotional, and physical abuse by Plaintiff; yet no professionals have sounded an alarm because the abuse did not “leave marks.”‘
Zolciak further added that ‘KKJ [sic] outlined in great detail how often he is pushed, shoved, grabbed, yanked, and generally physically battered by Plaintiff during his parenting time’ – most likely referring to KJ – which he allegedly discussed with his therapist.
The Guardian was informed of an incident that took place during spring break 2026 when Biermann allegedly threw ‘a pan at a child’s head during a heated argument while on vacation,’ according to Zolciak’s June motion for an emergency hearing.
The child was KJ’s girlfriend, and her mother wrote a letter to the court explaining the incident involving KJ’s girlfriend, KJ, Biermann and his girlfriend at the time, an OnlyFans model named Bri. The former Atlanta Falcons player is now romantically linked to Jillian Green, the estranged wife of Zolciak’s boyfriend, Kyle Mowitz.
‘[KJ’s girlfriend] became the main focus with Kroy yelling so loudly that she was crying and trembling in fear,’ the mother of KJ’s girlfriend wrote.

Court documents state that KJ was allegedly ‘thrown over the couch’ by his father during a ‘heated argument’ in October 2025

Zolciak also raised an incident in her court papers between KJ, his father and KJ’s girlfriend during spring break this year in which Biermann allegedly threw ‘a pan at a child’s head’
‘The instability and inconsistency in Kroy’s mood from day to day has been a stress on the household, in general.’
Meanwhile, Zolciak alleged – in the same filing – that the young girl’s mother claimed to her that her daughter was ‘subject to frightening rage fueled tirades by Plaintiff.’
Zolciak has claimed in court documents the Guardian ‘shrugs’ and chose not to investigate. The Guardian did, however, recommend Biermann ‘undergo anger management therapy.’
Biermann, for his part, claimed in his July 13 response filing that Zolciak’s tactics throughout the proceedings ‘create enough chaos to deflect attention away from Respondent and all the destruction that her narcissistic-fueled actions have brought upon these children and their lives.’
He added that she ‘lashes out in a desperate attempt to distract attention from her own substantial shortcomings as a parent.’
Court documents have also shed light on Zolciak’s alleged treatment of daughter Kaia.
In an August 2025 motion for immediate change of custody and parenting time filing, Biermann had suggested that Kaia and Zolciak have a ‘tumultuous relationship,’ and he, along with the endorsement of the Guardian, requested, at the time, that the court allow the 12-year-old to spend the summer in Montana with his parents. The request was ultimately granted.
In the August 2025 filing, Biermann also suggested Zolciak ‘abused’ Kaia.
He wrote: ‘Additionally, there is immediate concern for the physical, emotional, and mental safety of the female child because if the current parenting plan remains in place, she will be forced to reside with her tormentor and abuser.’
In one of the latest court filings from July, Biermann claimed that the children are ‘suffering ongoing mental abuse at the hands of the Respondent.’
‘Petitioner fears that if this court does not intervene immediately and uphold both the GAL and the therapists’ recommendation, the damage will be irreparable,’ he added.
On April 22, a day before the date that KJ is alleged to have sexually assaulted the female, Biermann filed a motion for an expedited hearing to change the custody agreement.
He wrote: ‘Respondent acts in ways that are harmful to the children… Respondent is more selfishly concerned with her own image and her work options than with the opinions of experts and/or the best interests of the children.
‘This constitutes neglect of the minor children and is harmful to the progress and healing of the family unit.’
Less than two years before KJ was arrested for alleged aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery, the teen witnessed his father being placed in handcuffs on the night of November 27, 2024, in which he was detained for about an hour.
Police bodycam footage obtained by Our News Outlet shows Biermann and police officers telling a screaming KJ to ‘calm down’. But once he got inside the house, KJ proceeded to shout at his mother: ‘You are a horrible example of a parent.’ He also demanded he wanted his phone and shouted: ‘This is bulls**t!’
Kaia was equally as hysterical, as seen in the footage. She showed cops her elbow which had blood on it and insisted that she simply ‘fell’ – while Zolciak said that the blood came from her own arm since she had recently had some sort of surgery.

Biermann and Zolciak’s children have split their time between their parents’ homes in Georgia, following the marital home being sold in January 2025
Zolciak and Biermann had differing accounts of the evening, as seen in the police bodycam footage.
Biermann, who was detained and ordered to wait in a cop car until the police spoke to the family members inside, claimed that he was ‘physically attacked’ by his estranged wife, claiming she ‘scratched the c**p out of my face.’ He insisted that she was the ‘abuser.’
Zolciak, who was questioned inside their former marital home, separately told cops that Biermann ‘threw me off a f***ing ladder’ and ‘tossed me to the ground.’
Biermann, however, explained to the cops that Zolciak had ‘lost her balance and I caught her.’ He added that she was ‘verbally abusive’ while she was handling the curtains. He also claimed she ‘drinks every day.’
After police interrogated the two children, Biermann was ultimately released from handcuffs and the pair were ordered to stay separated the rest of the night since they still lived in the same house at the time. The cops had instructed Zolciak to file for a protective order if she felt she was in danger.
Now, KJ has been arrested.
Zolciak has branded the allegations against her son as ‘nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,’ insisting that ‘he categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.
‘We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations,’ she said in a statement.

Following KJ’s September 11 hearing, a judge granted a $200,000 bond, and he was ordered to be released from the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center under strict release terms. He’s currently under court supervision, which is set to expire in 2027.
He must reside at Zolciak’s home under 24-hour house arrest, wear a GPS electronic ankle tracker at all times, complete all schooling virtually, not use cell phones or any form of social media, barred from any direct or indirect contact with the alleged victim and her family, and must surrender his passport.
KJ was indicted earlier this month by a grand jury with seven charges including: aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16.
KJ’s attorney Jason Sheffield told Our News Outlet last month: ‘My client is 100 percent innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed Polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender Polygrapher.
‘The fact that he’s been arrested and is being held without Bond is a tragedy. He is not only presumed innocent, but is in fact, innocent.
‘I will work tirelessly to demonstrate to the District Attorney’s office the mean-spirited nature of these false allegations and to bring a close to this matter as quickly as possible. I’m asking the Public not to presume the truth of these allegations and to give the families on both sides their space and privacy.’
KJ has not entered a formal plea – though his attorney has requested the case be transferred to juvenile court. His arraignment is scheduled for October 14.
