Lawler demands 'full investigation' into Adam Hisham Hamawy who was friends with late terror figure

In a bold move, Hudson Valley Representative Mike Lawler has pledged to initiate a thorough investigation into Dr. Adam Hisham Hamawy, who recently secured the Democratic nomination for a New Jersey congressional seat. Lawler’s concerns stem from Hamawy’s past connections with a notorious terrorist figure.

Hamawy, a seasoned combat surgeon, once served as a translator and later as a defense witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, infamously dubbed the “Blind Sheik.” Abdel-Rahman faced convictions on terrorism and conspiracy charges during the 1990s, casting a long shadow over those associated with him.

Adding to the controversy, Hamawy’s career includes a stint in Bosnia, where he worked with a foundation that was later revealed to have links to al Qaeda. More recently, he has come under scrutiny for defending a hospital located in the Gaza Strip, which investigations later uncovered was situated above a Hamas tunnel network.

Lawler, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Middle East Subcommittee, expressed his determination to pursue this investigation should Hamawy win in November. “If he’s elected, I’ll push for a full investigation because the American people deserve the truth,” Lawler stated in an interview with Fox News. Hamawy is running in a district where Democratic victory is largely anticipated.
