Michael Jordan’s new luxury lakefront mansion in North Carolina has been seen for the first time, offering a fresh look at the sprawling property as construction continues.
The Lake Norman property was acquired by the Jordan Family Gift Trust for $2.8 million in 2013. At the time, the original residence included six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a private pier, but that home was demolished in March 2025 to make way for a new custom build.
New aerial images now reveal the six-time NBA champion’s upgraded estate beginning to take shape on the shoreline in Cornelius, one of the area’s most desirable waterfront communities.
The photos suggest that the main framework and roof of the NBA legend’s home are already in place, with exterior finishing work appearing to be among the next major stages of the project.
Jordan’s new residence sits within the exclusive Peninsula Club golf course community, and one image appears to show a tee box and fairway just steps from the property.
The Lake Norman mansion remains an important part of Michael Jordan’s high-end real estate portfolio, while also keeping the basketball icon closely connected to his North Carolina roots.

Elsewhere in North Carolina, Jordan also has an expansive 7,000sq ft luxury residence in Uptown Charlotte, formed by combining two top-floor penthouse condos he acquired in 2010 for $3.15 million.
His primary base, however, is a mega-compound located within Jack Nicklaus’ Bear’s Club community in Jupiter, Florida, anchored by a custom 28,000sq ft estate featuring athletic facilities and a private basketball court.
Jordan doubled down on his footprint in the prestigious South Florida enclave in 2024, splashing out an additional $17 million to acquire a 9,100sq ft, five-bedroom secondary mansion nearby.
Earlier in his relationship with wife Yvette Prieto, the couple secured an understated three-bedroom suburban home in Miami for around $281,000 in 2008 before establishing their massive compound in Jupiter.
The Hall of Famer also previously owned a secluded mountain getaway in Park City, Utah, purchasing the 9,500sq ft contemporary retreat overlooking Glenwild Golf Club for $7.9 million in 2007 before selling it in late 2020.
During his championship reign with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan lived in an 8,000sq ft luxury penthouse on Lake Michigan, which was later transferred to his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy following their 2006 divorce and sold in 2014.

His most famous property remains the sprawling 56,000sq ft Champions Point estate in Highland Park, Illinois – complete with his iconic No. 23 front gate – which finally sold in December 2024 for $9.5 million after 12 years on the market.

The latest pictures of Jordan’s new home come amid a turbulent time in his TV career after it was revealed that he won’t be part of NBC Sports’ basketball coverage next season.
The NBA legend sparked a frenzy last May when it was announced that he would be joining the network as a ‘special contributor.’
But rather than provide regular analysis and insight, Jordan conducted just one interview with NBC host Mike Tirico, which was spread across multiple weeks of the season.
That sparked a backlash from some supporters and as it stands, according to Front Office Sports, Jordan is unlikely to return for the 2026/27 season. Our News Outlet has contacted NBC for comment.
Following the complaints about Jordan’s contributions last season, Tirico leaped to the defense of the NBA legend.
‘Michael doesn’t talk much, as you know. Michael still has so many interests in the game, business interests, with a piece of the [Charlotte] Hornets and obviously his involvement with [Jordan Brand],’ he told Sports Illustrated.
