A Pennsylvania mother allegedly told paramedics she was “not supposed to be here” after stabbing her husband and their three-year-old son to death at a resort hotel.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, was found with self-inflicted injuries at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. Her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son were found dead on beds inside the hotel room.
While being taken to the hospital, Harrison reportedly spoke with emergency medical personnel and said she was “not supposed to be here.”
According to police, she said: “Every day I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife.”
“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she allegedly added.
Harrison called police to the resort on Monday afternoon and asked for help ending her life, saying she could not find where to stab herself, according to an affidavit.
Police said Harrison told the dispatcher she wanted to join her husband and son. She reportedly said: “My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry.”
Her husband had multiple stab wounds to the chest, while the child had a single stab wound to the chest, according to the outlet.

Harrison also asked EMS how deep the vein in her wrist was for “next time.” She said she had taken blood thinners and expressed frustration that her blood had clotted, the outlet reported.
Officers from the Pocono Township Police Department found a butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a small knife in the sink. Great Wolf Lodge told police the knives did not belong to the hotel.
Investigators also found several medication bottles and containers holding what they believed to be blood, according to the outlet.
The family had originally booked their stay from September 21 through October 5, then extended it through Tuesday.

“The investigation continues as we gather further evidence shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this horrendous situation,” Mancuso said in a statement Tuesday.
Jason Lasecki, Great Wolf Lodge’s vice president of corporate communications, told the outlet that the company was “deeply saddened and heartbroken” by the incident.
