In a statement regarding a significant development in Middle Eastern peace efforts, Kentucky Senate Republican candidate Nate Morris proposed that the Nobel Peace Prize should be renamed in honor of President Donald Trump. This suggestion followed the president’s announcement that both Israel and Hamas had agreed on the initial phase of a peace plan.

“President Trump doesn’t just deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for securing this agreement, they should rename the entire award in his honor,” Morris stated on X in a commentary responding to Trump’s post on Truth Social.

Morris’s remarks came on the heels of Trump’s social media post, where he disclosed that both Israel and Hamas had endorsed the first phase of a peace deal. Trump highlighted that as a result, “ALL of the Hostages will be released shortly, and Israel will pull back their forces to a mutually agreed line as the initial measures towards a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”

Trump further noted, “All Parties will be treated fairly!” adding that this was a significant day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, neighboring countries, and the USA. He extended thanks to the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who assisted in facilitating this “Historic and Unprecedented Event.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a post on X, remarked on the significance of the day for Israel, expressing gratitude to Trump and his administration “from the depths” of his heart for their efforts in the “sacred mission” of securing the release of hostages.

Netanyahu stated, “Tomorrow I will convene the government to approve the agreement and bring all our beloved hostages home,” appreciating the valiance of the IDF soldiers and security personnel, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifice in achieving this moment. He extended heartfelt thanks to President Trump and his team for their commitment to the mission of releasing the hostages.

The Times of Israel reported that the ceasefire agreement could be signed in Egypt on Thursday.
