Trump a 'solid 50/50' on Iran as he weighs peace deal — but he may blast them 'to kingdom come'

President Trump expressed on Saturday that there is an even chance of 50/50 regarding the possibility of achieving a peace deal with Iran. He indicated that a decision about whether to continue military actions and “obliterate them” would likely be reached by May 24.

These remarks came as Trump was gearing up for discussions with negotiators Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner about Iran’s latest feedback on the U.S. peace proposal, according to a report by Axios.

Recently, diplomats from Pakistan and Qatar traveled to Tehran, aiming to facilitate an agreement.

The President mentioned that he had reviewed a “draft” agreement but did not disclose if he had given his approval, as he stated in an interview with CBS News.

“They’re getting much closer,” he remarked.

His comments echoed those of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is currently visiting Iran amid the preparation for a potential recommencement of military operations against the nation.

“There may be news later today. I don’t have news at this very moment, but there might be some news a little later today,” Rubio told reporters. “There may not be. I hope there will be, but I’m not sure yet.”
