An American Airlines flight arriving from Spain encountered a brake problem and a blown tire after touching down at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
American Airlines Flight 41, operated by a Boeing 787-800 from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport, landed safely at O’Hare at about 2:30 p.m. local time, according to a statement the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provided to News Outlet.
The FAA said the flight crew reported a brake issue after landing, followed by “a blown tire.”

American Airlines said 234 passengers and 11 crew members were on board the flight.
The airline said first responders met the aircraft “out of an abundance of caution.” Passengers were then safely taken to the terminal by bus.
The aircraft has been removed from service while American Airlines’ maintenance team conducts an inspection. The airline apologized to passengers for the disruption.
The cause of the reported brake malfunction has not been determined.
The Chicago Fire Department did not immediately respond to News Outlet’s request for comment.
