A man was found dead Sunday near the edge of the Disneyland Resort property in California, leading to a police investigation and a temporary pedestrian detour around the closed sidewalk.
Anaheim police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded at about 1:45 p.m. to 800 West Katella Avenue, along the Disneyland Resort boundary. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The investigation took place beneath a large, arched blue sign marking the Disneyland Resort entrance.
Officers sealed off the sidewalk with yellow crime scene tape and placed a black privacy screen beneath the gateway, shielding the body from passing motorists and pedestrians.
A beer can was reportedly discovered near the deceased man, although investigators have not determined whether it was connected to his death. The cause of death remains unknown.

Video from the scene showed personnel from the Orange County Coroner’s Office, dressed in formal attire, loading a covered mortuary gurney into an unmarked white minivan parked on Katella Avenue.
Uniformed Anaheim police officers continued to staff the taped-off area while documenting evidence.
As authorities processed the scene, pedestrians were directed around the section of sidewalk that had been closed.
Police have not released the man’s identity or further information about the circumstances surrounding the death. The LA Times reported that the deceased was a 65-year-old man.
