The Tates, who are dual U.S. and British citizens, were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and formally indicted last year on similar charges.
LONDON, UK — Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been charged in Britain with rape and other crimes, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The Crown Prosecution Service announced that a European arrest warrant was issued for the pair last year, and Romanian courts have ordered their extradition to the U.K.
Andrew Tate, 38, is facing charges involving three women, including rape, causing actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and profiting from controlling prostitution. Tristan Tate, 36, is charged with offenses involving one woman, which include rape, human trafficking, and causing actual bodily harm.
The Tates, who hold citizenship in both the U.S. and the U.K., were apprehended in Romania towards the end of 2022 and were formally charged last year with participating in a criminal network that allegedly enticed women to Romania for sexual exploitation. Andrew Tate also faces rape charges. The brothers deny all allegations directed against them.
