New footage captured the moment when Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught on the “kiss cam” with his HR head at a Coldplay concert, eliciting loud shrieks from the audience as they awkwardly attempted to avoid being seen.
This second angle surfaced following the initial video, which quickly went viral, garnering over 50 million views. It showed the tech CEO and his chief human resources officer, Kristin Cabot, embracing during the band’s performance in Boston on Wednesday night.
Filmed from another part of the arena, the new clip revealed numerous fans screaming as the duo hurried to conceal their faces when the jumbotron unexpectedly focused on them during the concert.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” frontman Chris Martin could be heard saying as the audience cackled.
“I hope we didn’t do something bad,” the crooner later added when the pair vanished from the scene.
After Cabot was spotted turning her back on the camera and Byron ducked down out of view, the Jumbotron moved on to another pair of fans dressed up in banana costumes.
Neither Byron nor Cabot, who both have families of their own, has spoken out yet about the sordid scandal.
Soon after the initial clip started exploding online, online sleuths quickly determined that Byron appeared to be married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot had recently divorced her husband, Kenneth Thornby.
“I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it,” Grace Springer, who filmed in the initial clip, told the US Sun in the wake of the fallout.
“A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes,” she added.
“I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them.”
