Massive fire breaks out at home of Heat coach Erik Spoelstra

In a dramatic turn of events, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra’s residence in Miami was consumed by a fierce blaze. Local news footage captured the scene as firefighters worked tirelessly to subdue the large fire on Thursday.

As reported by NBC Miami, property documents confirm that the house, situated at the intersection of Davis Road and Ponce De Leon Road, is owned by Spoelstra.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, they received the emergency call about the fire around 4:36 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with two structures on the property completely engulfed in flames, prompting a request for additional support.

The fire rescue team stated, “Due to a partial collapse, units transitioned to a defensive strategy and continue their efforts to put out the fire.”

Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported in connection with the incident.

Spoelstra and his ex-wife Nikki Spoelstra — whose divorce was reportedly finalized in late 2023 — co-parent their three kids, Santiago, 6, Dante, 4, and Ruby, 2.

The Heat lost, 122-112, to the Nuggets in Denver on Wednesday.

Miami hosts the Hornets on Friday.
