The discovery of a body inside a Tesla at a tow yard in Hollywood is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. KABC, a sister station, has discovered that the car is registered to singer D4vd.
LAPD reported that officers were called to the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. on Monday following reports of a strong odor emanating from an impounded vehicle.
Authorities mentioned that the car had been at the lot for several days and the body was concealed in a bag. As of now, there is no available information about the identity of the deceased person.
D4vd is scheduled for a Minneapolis concert on Tuesday as part of his “Withered” world tour, which started last month and will reach Los Angeles on September 20.
Authorities say the human remains were found in the front trunk of the Tesla.
Our sister station KABC has learned that the 2023 Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
Footage from KABC’s helicopter showed the area cordoned off with police tape around the Tesla and several other vehicles, along with a white canopy nearby.
KABC has contacted D4vd’s representatives, but they have yet to respond. The 20-year-old artist is recognized for his tracks “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” and he launched his debut album earlier this year.
