Early Saturday morning, an unidentified suspect drove a vehicle into a group of people waiting to enter a nightclub. The incident, which took place along Santa Monica Boulevard, resulted in injuries to approximately 30 individuals.
According to Capt. Adam Van Gerpen, public information officer for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, the injured were taken to nearby hospitals and trauma centers for treatment.
At least three of the victims are in critical condition, as reported by LACFD Capt. Adam Van Gerpen. To complicate matters further, one individual also sustained a gunshot wound.
Paramedics discovered that one of the patients had a gunshot wound, Van Gerpen said.
It’s not currently clear if the driver of the car fled or was arrested. Videos of the scene have started to emerge, with claims of even higher totals of critically and seriously injured people. RedState cannot confirm the validity of those reports at this time, and casualty numbers in situations like this are typically very fluid.

As of this writing, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has not commented, and it is unclear if this was a purposeful attack or an accident. The report of someone having a gunshot wound would seem to suggest the former. Given how unreliable early information can be, though, we just don’t know enough at this time.
This is a developing story.
