JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are currently probing a shooting incident that occurred near the Pinecrest subdivision within the Normandy Estates region.
The department communicated via social media around 5 p.m., informing the public that the entrance to the neighborhood at Guardian Drive, adjacent to Normandy Boulevard, was sealed off for investigative purposes. Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the vicinity for the time being.
By 6 p.m., the JSO provided an update indicating significant traffic congestion on Normandy Blvd. due to the closure at Guardian Drive. They suggested that individuals park at a nearby supermarket until the situation is resolved.
While the timeline for reopening the road remains uncertain, the JSO mentioned that residents of the neighborhood are being allowed to pass through the area in intervals.
