California authorities are urgently searching for two 9-year-old children who investigators say were abducted by their father this week, with officials warning they are concerned about the children’s safety.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has asked the public to help find Solomon Sukonick and Marozhina Sukonick, who authorities say were taken Thursday by their father, David Sukonick.
Officials said the children were last seen at about 8 p.m. in the area of the 1000 block of West Avenue J-8 in Lancaster.

In a news release, the sheriff’s department said there is “concern for their well-being” and urged anyone who may have information about their whereabouts to contact authorities.
Investigators said Solomon and Marozhina were last seen in a black 2011 Lincoln Town Car bearing California license plate SOLOYST.
Marozhina is described as a 9-year-old White girl, about 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 90 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing pink shorts with a white shirt.

Solomon, also 9, is described as a white boy who stands 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 90 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue shorts and an unknown-colored shirt.
David Sukonick is described as a 71-year-old white man who stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes.

According to the New York Post, David Sukonick shared a photo of the children on Facebook on July 13. One commenter questioned whether the children were OK, writing that they looked “miserable.”
