A woman from New Zealand has shared the unexpected clue that led to the discovery of her fiancé’s infidelity, just two weeks before their planned wedding. Astonishingly, this revelation wasn’t even the most surprising aspect of her tale.

During a live call to The Edge, a popular radio show in New Zealand, a caller named Michelle recounted the heart-wrenching moment she uncovered the betrayal. This discovery came on the heels of her return from an urgent trip abroad.

Michelle explained to the show’s hosts that she was residing in Australia when she received the distressing news that her mother in New Zealand had fallen ill, prompting her to make a swift journey back home.

Upon her return to Australia, with the wedding date looming just two weeks away, Michelle was greeted with an unsettling sight on her bedside table—a seemingly innocuous object that would unravel her fiancé’s secret.

“When I got back home, there was a girl’s necklace on the bedside table,” Michelle revealed. “I caught him cheating before our wedding.”

‘When I got back home, there was a girl’s necklace on the bedside table,’ Michelle said. ‘I caught him cheating before our wedding.’

Michelle was then left with the humiliating task of cancelling the entire wedding less than a fortnight out from the big day – which included explaining the situation to her ‘whole family in England, who had booked tickets to come’.

But the most jaw-dropping revelation involved the couple’s pre-booked honeymoon in Fiji.

Unable to cancel their flights or resort booking, Michelle revealed that both and she her ex-fiancé still went on the honeymoon – together.

‘It was so awkward. I still went on the honeymoon – and he still came,’ she said.

Although they stayed at the same hotel, Michelle added that her parents also decided to accompany her on the honeymoon trip so that she could stay with them.

‘I didn’t stay with him,’ she added.

The Edge NZ host Ash London was blown away by the audacity of Michelle’s ex to go on the trip, particularly given the cheating circumstances that led to their wedding being called off.

She pressed Michelle for further details about the honeymoon nightmare, asking if the broken-up couple at least travelled on separate flights.

To make matters worse, Michelle said they were not only on the same flight, but had to sit side-by-side in their pre-booked seats.

‘Yes! I had to sit by him. It was awful. I was mortified,’ Michelle confirmed.

The radio host continued to question why the ex wouldn’t have the decency to just let Michelle enjoy the trip alone given that she’d had to deal with the embarrassment of cancelling the wedding after he cheated on her.

‘Because I was marrying an a**hole!’ Michelle replied.

‘[He] thought I would take him back!’

Co-host Dan Webby then humorously asked a suggestive question about whether Michelle had ‘one more cheeky go on him’ during the honeymoon trip.

‘No, absolutely not,’ Michelle resolutely replied.

‘I have got more self respect than that,’ she continued, with the radio host trio applauding her stance.

Ash followed up by asking Michelle if her ex brought along anyone with him on the trip as ‘back up’, to which Michelle confirmed that he had travelled solo.

‘What an absolute loser,’ Ash declared.

The clip, which was shared to The Edge NZ TikTok account and had been viewed over 10,500 times, concluded with co-host Clinton Randell questioning if Michelle would frequently bump into her ex throughout the duration of the Fiji holiday.

‘Did you see him at the buffet every morning?’ Clinton asked.

Michelle laughingly confirmed: ‘Yep. Just by himself!’

A stunned Clint replied: ‘That’s a movie. That’s an actual movie, Michelle.’
