The video release coincides with police alerts about a suspected group orchestrating multiple burglaries across the city. Authorities believe this crew, consisting of four to seven individuals, has been utilizing chains to forcibly extract ATMs from various retail locations.

Footage from the New York Food Mart on North Broadway reveals a Jeep SUV arriving at the scene last Saturday. The recording shows five individuals exiting the vehicle, smashing the front entrance, and attaching a chain to the ATM within the store. Subsequently, they are seen driving away while dragging the machine through the shattered door and windows.

According to a community alert, this spree of ATM thefts has impacted at least 11 businesses this month alone. The incidents took place at the following locations and times:

– 2600 block of West Fullerton Avenue on January 24 at 4:37 a.m.
– 4100 block of North Broadway on January 24 at 7:17 a.m.

Among the targeted locations was Candy’s Grocer on Ohio Street, where the owner expressed frustration, noting it marked the sixth break-in they’ve experienced over the past three years.

One of the places the thieves struck was Candy’s Grocer on Ohio Street. The owner said it is the sixth time they’ve been robbed in the past three years.

“I am considering even closing at this point. I can’t really afford to keep doing this. It’s not worth it and we’ve been lucky so far.that there’s no injuries, but how long is that going to hold out. Is it worth the risk? Is it worth the cost? Everything is going up. I can’t afford to be restocking the store and repairing a door.

Police believe the same group is responsible for all of the break-ins. They’re hoping someone recognizes the group from the new surveillance video.
