Commander Brian Gismervik, the commanding officer of Coast Guard Cutter Northland, stated, “Preventing harmful and illegal narcotics from reaching our shores and infiltrating our communities requires teamwork.”

He further elaborated, “In the ever-changing maritime environment, it necessitates the combined efforts of our joint force DoD, DHS, and international partners to combat transnational criminal organizations.”
