The heartbreaking news of the passing of Codi Dreaux, who had been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit since her birth in February 2025, was shared by her parents, Cori Broadus and Wayne Deuce, on Monday.

In Washington, the sorrow is palpable as Cori Broadus, the only daughter of renowned musician Snoop Dogg, grieves the loss of her 10-month-old daughter, Codi Dreaux. This tragic event has touched many hearts, as Cori, at 26, shared a heartfelt tribute on her Instagram story.

“I love the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori expressed, accompanying her words with a poignant black-and-white photograph. In the image, she is seen smiling tenderly while holding her daughter in what appears to be a hospital environment.

Wayne Deuce, Cori’s fiancé, also took to Instagram to share his mourning and honor the memory of their beloved daughter. His touching message overlaid a picture of him cradling Codi, who is shown with a breathing tube under her nose, revealing the struggles she faced since birth.

“I’ve been the saddest since you left me, Codi Dreaux. But I know you’re at peace,” Wayne wrote, pouring out his grief and love. “Daddy will always love you,” he added, capturing the deep bond and enduring love that will remain in their hearts.

“I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace,” he wrote over a photo of himself holding his daughter who had a breathing tube under her nose. “Daddy will always love you.”

The two said Codi died Monday after being in the NICU since her birth in February 2025. Codi was born at 25 weeks, nearly three months earlier than usual, Broadus posted last year.

“Becoming a NICU mom was not part of the plan, but it became part of my story,” she wrote in an Instagram post in September. “I carry my little warrior’s strength with me every day.”

Broadus announced Codi was brough home from the hospital Jan. 6.

“She’s home. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all,” she wrote in the post.

She reposted the post to her Instagram Story with the caption “20 days later?! dawg im sick.”

PEOPLE previously reported Broadus had a C-section after developing HELLP syndrome, a rare, life-threatening pregnancy complication.

“I’m a high-risk pregnancy, and doctors were very concerned for me and the baby, but God has his hands on me,” she told E! News when she found out she was pregnant in Dec. 2024.

Snoop Dogg has not publicly commented, but posted a photo of him, his daughter and two of his sons Saturday evening with the caption “💖🙏🏾”
